Mission Statement/Whats Happening

JAVAA is an organization dedicated to the preservation of Jamaica’s musical heritage through the protection of the professional and social well-being of our vintage artistes and musicians; adherence to high, creative standards and support of efforts toward ensuring national understanding of the value and importance of Jamaica’s music industry.

WHO ARE OUR MEMBERS?
Our ultimate aim is to have as members, the vast majority of singers, deejays, musicians, producers, disc jocks and allied personnel who were active participants in the evolution and development of Jamaica’s music from the 1950s to the 1980s.

Although our current membership is largely locally based, we have started making contact with overseas-based performers and the response has been very encouraging.Provision also exists for associate and honorary membership.
